OK, I'll admit it, I'm a cloud fanatic.
Not in the way that I can name every cloud by its scientific name but more like, I love clouds and cloud paintings/pictures. The way the light plays through them, their variety in edges, shapes and colors.
This big (thunderhead?) cloud I saw on a recent holiday on Texel, a Dutch isle.
I've used a limited palette of cadmium red, cadmium yellow light and ultramarine blue (+white) for this painting. Also, about 80% of the painting was done using a painting knife. I've been looking a lot at the work of palette knife painters like Tom Brown and I want to incorporate more knife-work in my paintings.
