Collecting sea shells

"Collecting sea shells", oil on panel, 6x8 (15x20cm)

Backlight is something I've always enjoyed.
I painted this painting from a photo I took of a little boy, collecting sea shells on a beach in the setting sun. The beautiful rimlight, the long, blue shadows, his joyful pose and the light scattering in the plastic bucket made this a into beautiful composition that needed to be painted.

Erik!! This is another beautiful painting. Love the little puddles of water in the sand (very realistic) and of course, the shadows are perfectly painted..
