Roman warrior, oil painting from life

A roman warrior, painted from life during our painting class. It's still a work in progress, I took some photos to be able to finish the painting at home because I like the promise it still has.

You could leave it like this it is very good.

Thank you Hanneke. Yes, I could leave it like the but then I would never know if I could improve the painting, or ruin it for that matter :)

Very cool subject matter. I like the freshness of it as it is. I think it would be wonderful if you just finished it all off( the feet and background ) to the same level as the rest of the painting. But I understand your desire to keep working it too. That is one of the neat things about paintings is that they can look great at many different levels of completion.

Thank you Douglas. I hope to preserve that freshness in the completed painting. You only know when you've gone too far when you've gone too far :)
