Plein air - De Vlist

I had a nice day today painting plein air with my friends Rene PleinAir and Corry Kooy.
We were allowed to paint on a beautiful farm and it was hard to pick a scene from all those possible painting spots.

Original available here or contact me by mail.

"Blue dinky", oil on panel

"The owls hideout" oil on panel, 24x30cm

Truly beautiful paintings. It is not easy to paint en plein air, you have to block out all the things you don't want to see, like on a photograph, I find it very hard, but it seems effortless for you.

Thank you very much Jane! Good thing the paintings seem effortless because they sure didn't feel like that while painting them :)
I also find it very hard to block out all the surroundings and focus just on your subject, a viewfinder helps a little, and sometimes people use a digital camera as a viewfinder for the first sketch. Thanks for your kind words, love your watercolors.
